Vavuniya District Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture incorporated in the companies’ act No 07 of 2007 in Sri Lanka and presently having 235 members in various sectors like Food and food Processing, Restaurant and Hotel, Garment, Carpentry, Jewellery, Rice Mill, Engineering construction, Sculptural work, Metal Crasher, Agriculture, Poultry farm, Whole sale and Retail, Pharmacy, IT company, Textiles, Optical, Printers and Supermarket etc. The Primary objectives of the chamber are

1) To promote, advance, develop, safeguard, assist, protect the trade, manufactures, commerce, Industries and agriculture in the district of Vavuniya and in Sri Lanka and to undertake all measures to ensure and protect them in the national interest.

2) To consider, any matter or question related to agriculture, commerce, trade, industry and provide solutions for them.

3) To provide services to the members and non members like organizing and conducting seminars and training programs continuously on technology, management, finance, enterprise development, industrial relations, production, quality control and environment protection and providing business information, research, administrative services, employment opportunities through the Jobs Net program and business planning and evaluation services such as technical & financial planning, pre investment studies, feasibility studies business performance evaluation and facilitating Trade Fairs and Trade Delegations to national and international.

The VDCCIA is a member of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka and obtained membership in the other national business chambers to get the maximum benefits to cater our members’ needs to keep their business in the correct path and also our chamber closely working with the entrepreneurial skill development bodies at various levels to improve the entire level of business capacity of the existing entrepreneurs and also to create the new entrepreneurs to utilize the available raw materials in environmental friendly manner.

The chamber board consisting of thirteen members from the diverse sectors and conducting the regular monthly meeting to keep the activities in proper way and the day to day chamber business operation is being carried by the three members of chamber staff headed by the board.
